It’s been months since Switch 2 owners last got a proper general Nintendo Direct worth the name. That wait could be wrapping up any minute now, as an insider known for his sharp leaks on Nintendo is gearing up to spill the window for the next showcase.
The intel comes from Nate The Hate, an insider with a track record on Nintendo that has been turning heads for years. On X, the American leaker confirmed he just wrapped a new episode of his podcast dropping very soon. On the docket, his takes on the surprise Star Fox reveal from the May 6 Direct, a recap of Switch 2‘s first year since its June 2025 launch, thoughts on entering Year 2, and most importantly the timing of the next Nintendo Direct.
The leaker is no rookie at this game. Nate The Hate had nailed the window for the February 2026 Direct, which ended up airing on February 5, as well as the summer 2025 Direct that preceded the launch of Donkey Kong Bananza on July 17, 2025. This fresh tease should land on a heavily anticipated general Direct meant to break the announcement drought since the Switch 2 launch, with fans hungry for news on a possible The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, a new 3D Mario, or the long-awaited Super Smash Bros. on Switch 2.
