Attack on Titan 3 just dropped a 3-minute trailer that already has the community buzzing. The Omega Force production stuns from the very first gameplay shots released by Koei Tecmo. After 7 years of silence since Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle, the goal is to fully wrap up Hajime Isayama’s saga.
The 1st trailer for Attack on Titan 3 hit the Summer Game Fest 2026 stage on June 5. Geoff Keighley pitched the game as the only adaptation covering the entire manga arc from start to finish. A new 3-minute trailer just dropped, finally confirming what the gameplay looks like. Fans get their first real look at the production 8 years after the last entry.
The visuals hit hard from the very first shots. Hange Zoë delivers her last stand against the Colossal Titans. Levi Ackerman takes down the Beast Titan with signature precision. The Rumbling unfolds in full swing with tens of thousands of Colossal Titans on the march. Eren wraps up the reveal in his Founding Titan form.
The trailer’s message sums up the ultimate ambition. « The fight for freedom begins and ends here » the voice-over declares in the closing seconds. A brand-new animated opening produced by studio Mappa is also confirmed. The Japanese studio handled the final season of the anime, but the opening isn’t included at launch. Koei Tecmo plans to roll it out in a future update.
A.O.T. 3 aims to wipe away the criticism from the 2 previous entries. The gameplay comes back looser and more dynamic according to Omega Force‘s promise. The bestiary is fully reworked to bring way more aggressive Titans than the sometimes-static creatures of the last games. The ODM Gear loop stays the franchise’s signature but ramps up movement fluidity.
Like in Attack on Titan 2, players build their own custom avatar. The character grows within the Survey Corps alongside Eren, Mikasa, Armin and the other iconic figures of the saga. The new twist comes from the custom squad players build themselves. This group heads out on missions beyond the walls to explore the world past Paradis.
The game adaptation covers the entire 4 seasons of the anime for the 1st time ever. It also folds in brand-new story content developed under Hajime Isayama‘s supervision. Yui Ishikawa reprises her role as the Japanese voice of Mikasa Ackerman. Shiori Mikami is also back voicing Krista Lenz aka Historia Reiss.
The wait is real for the fanbase. Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle shipped back in 2019. That’s a full 7 years the community has been waiting for a video game sequel. The Koei Tecmo franchise pushed over 2.6 million units worldwide by 2021. Hajime Isayama‘s manga has crossed 140 million copies in circulation.
Attack on Titan 3 lands this Winter 2026-2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam. No PS4, Xbox One or Switch 1 versions are on the table. The trailer also screens at Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles from July 2 to 5 at the AmiAmi booth. North American fans get a first hands-on look before the rest of the world.
The stakes are high for Omega Force and Koei Tecmo. The 2 previous games got mixed reviews despite an obvious fan-service push. A.O.T. 3 has to win over both the nostalgic fans AND the new players to close out the saga in style. One misstep, and Hajime Isayama‘s video game legacy goes down with the ship.
