Dino Crisis fans had pretty much given up on a new entry after the 3rd installment flopped back in 2003. A fresh leak just turned that pessimism on its head. The long-awaited remake is reportedly real and way further along than anyone suspected.
Specialist account Team Biohazard claims the Dino Crisis remake is the real deal. Development reportedly kicked off back in 2022 inside Capcom‘s own studios. The Japanese publisher has supposedly chosen its in-house teams over any external partner.
Capcom‘s playbook would line up with its previous remakes. The official reveal would land somewhere in 2028 or 2029 if development stays on its current pace. That window would give the publisher enough time to polish the project before showing its hand.
The Dino Crisis series has been on ice since Dino Crisis 3 dropped on Xbox in 2003. The 3rd entry moved the action into space and got panned by critics across the board. That commercial flop pushed Capcom to shelve the franchise for 23 long years.
The publisher has since turned its remakes into a money-printing machine. Resident Evil 2 in 2019, Resident Evil 3 in 2020, and Resident Evil 4 in 2023 all crushed sales charts. The hunger for a new Dino Crisis has even pushed indie devs to build Code Violet, a PS5 spiritual successor that dropped in January 2026. The runway is clear for Capcom to finally bring its prehistoric saga back from the dead.
