Nintendo Direct June 2026 Recap: Every Reveal from a Show-Stopping Showcase

The June 2026 Direct marks a turning point for Nintendo, with the spotlight firmly on the back half of 2026 and early 2027 on Nintendo Switch 2. Unlike previous showcases, the presentation hands serious airtime to third-party publishers (Capcom, Square Enix, Atlus, Ubisoft, FromSoftware, SEGA, Konami, Marvelous), a clear sign Nintendo is going all-in on beefing up the Switch 2 library since its June 2025 launch. The 50-minute Direct paired with a Nintendo Treehouse Live also doubles down on Nintendo’s commitment to follow up reveals with deep gameplay sessions, as seen with the Star Fox 64 remake in the post-show.

On the first-party side, the headline reveal is the Switch 2 remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time slated for 2026, finally confirming the rumors that had been swirling for months. Nintendo also locked in Xenoblade Genesis (a fresh start for the saga from Monolith Soft for 2027), Switch 2 Editions of all three Xenoblade Chronicles games in 4K 60fps, and Nintendo Switch Sports Resort as a Switch 2 exclusive launching October 22, 2026 with 14 sports. Rhythm Heaven Groove kicks things off for fans of portable classics with 80 solo minigames and 30 co-op modes, hitting July 2, 2026.

On the third-party front, Capcom pulls off a triple play with Devil May Cry 5, Onimusha: Way of the Sword and Dragon’s Dogma 2 hitting Switch 2 between June and October 2026. Square Enix brings Kingdom Hearts 4 day one to Switch 2 (the first time a mainline Kingdom Hearts entry has launched day one on a Nintendo console), native ports of the Kingdom Hearts trilogy (October 8, 2026), plus Final Fantasy XIV early access in August. Atlus locks in Metaphor: ReFantazio for November 12, 2026, and FromSoftware drops The Duskbloods, a Switch 2 exclusive for 2026 with a network test set for summer. Vanillaware and Marvelous catch everyone off guard with Muramasa: Revenant Blades, hitting multiple platforms (Switch 2, Switch, PS5, PC Steam) in early 2027.

• Rhythm Heaven Groove -> A brand-new rhythm game from Nintendo dropping July 2, 2026 on Nintendo Switch consoles. It packs 80 solo minigames and 30 co-op modes, including a turn-based RPG mode, with music composed by Tsunku.
• Onimusha: Way of the Sword -> Capcom brings the franchise back on Nintendo Switch 2. The new trailer puts sword combat and the signature samurai universe front and center.
• Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition -> Capcom ports the cult hack and slash to Nintendo Switch 2 on June 23, 2026 with brand-new additional content.
• Lies of P Complete -> Neowiz‘s souls-like lands on Nintendo Switch 2 on August 6, 2026 with all DLC included, plus the Overture expansion.
• Xenoblade Chronicles Switch 2 Editions -> All three games (Definitive Edition, 2, 3) hit Nintendo Switch 2 in 4K 60fps docked and Full HD handheld, with fresh content for the first entry.
• Xenoblade Genesis -> A fresh start for Monolith Soft‘s saga, landing on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. The teaser hints at a school-based setting for this new era of the franchise.
• Nintendo Switch Sports Resort -> Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive launching October 22, 2026 with 14 sports: Volleyball, Bowling, Tennis, Basketball, Golf, Skateboarding, Power Cruising, Prop Plane, Jump Rope and more, a modern homage to Wii Sports Resort.

• Rayman Legends Retold -> Ubisoft reimagines the 2D classic on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 1, 2026 in 60 FPS with content parity across platforms.
• Big Walk -> Cross-platform indie hitting Nintendo Switch 2 on August 1, 2026, letting players on all platforms team up.
• ONE PIECE Cooking Adventure -> 8-bit culinary spin-off in the One Piece universe on Nintendo Switch 2, mixing exploration and dish preparation.
• Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World -> Square Enix launches the new Dragon Quest Monsters on December 3, 2026, with a fresh monster fusion system.
