Xbox is gearing up to celebrate its 25th anniversary in style. The much-anticipated collector controller unveiled at the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 back in June could deliver some sweet surprises for fans before its official retail rollout.
Insider eXtas1s, known for his spot-on leaks around Xbox, just dropped 3 juicy details about the Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition. According to the leaker, the controller ships on October 20, 2026. That timing beats the November 2026 window originally teased by Microsoft in its official trailer by a full month. The pricing sits at 79.99 € in Europe and 74.99 £ in the UK. Preorders would go live during Gamescom 2026 running from August 26 to 30, 2026.
That 80-buck price tag sits at the high end for a straight-up controller. The translucent OG Green design signed by Microsoft does justify the premium sticker with its dead-on tribute to the original 2001 Xbox hardware. The ABXY buttons bring back the blue, red, yellow, and green color scheme the brand ditched way back in 2013. The LB and RB bumpers rock a black-and-white finish that nods to the monochrome buttons of the legendary Duke from 2001. The collector play looks solid for nostalgia-hungry fans but feels shaky for pragmatic gamers. The price hits dangerously close to the sticker on the full Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition bundle dropping in November 2026.
