A Zelda: Twilight Princess Remaster Is Reportedly In The Works For Nintendo Switch 2

Nash Weedle is back in the Nintendo rumor spotlight. The leaker carries a spotty track record but has landed a few big calls, including the recent Nintendo Direct date. That win gave him renewed credibility with the Nintendo community.

In the latest episode of his Partida Zero podcast, Nash Weedle claims that Nintendo is preparing to bring Twilight Princess back on Switch 2. He says he has received « fairly strong rumors » that the game is in the works. The leaker teases a revised version of the Wii U game from 2016 with a few extras, without going into details.

The long-teased Wind Waker port, on the other hand, seems to have gone quiet according to Nash Weedle. The leaker says he no longer expects the 2002 GameCube classic to land without meaningful new content. That contrast fuels speculation about Nintendo‘s selective porting strategy for its new console.

The revised version would build on The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, released on March 4, 2016 exclusively for Wii U. The game also packs the Hero Mode that doubles enemy damage and strips out healing hearts for a harder run.

Nintendo looks to be kicking off a broader preservation strategy for its classic Zelda catalog on Switch 2. The Nintendo Switch Online service already streams Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask through N64 emulation. Adding Twilight Princess in a revised form would round out the 3D Zelda trilogy from the 2000s on the new console.
