Take-Two Interactive has finally addressed GTA 6‘s trailer 3 during the Q4 FY26 earnings call. A window has been confirmed. It’s further out than many fans had hoped.
During Take-Two‘s Q4 FY26 earnings call, CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed that GTA 6‘s marketing campaign will kick off this summer. His wording was deliberate. He stated that « the next few weeks don’t yet count as summer », ruling out any trailer 3 drop before late June. Vice estimates the most likely window between June 25 and July 8, 2026. This logic aligns with Rockstar Games‘ usual playbook: launching a marketing campaign 4 to 5 months ahead of release to build hype progressively.
GTA 6‘s release date remains locked in for November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Strauss Zelnick said he feels « very good » about this timeline, adding that « as you approach marketing milestones, the confidence level is at its peak ». It’s not the first time he’s voiced this confidence on GTA 6, but it is the first time he’s done so with a marketing campaign imminent, which gives his statements more weight. The first trailer dropped in December 2023 and the second in May 2025.
The numbers Take-Two is putting forward around GTA 6 are staggering. The group is projecting $8.2 billion in net bookings for its FY27 fiscal year, which covers the exact launch window for the game. For context, GTA V has sold over 230 million copies since 2013 and Red Dead Redemption 2 has reached 85 million. GTA 6 is expected to shatter both records within its first months.
This colossal bet rests on several internal certainties. The Grand Theft Auto franchise generates long-tail revenue thanks to GTA Online, which still brings in hundreds of millions of dollars annually 13 years after the launch of GTA V. Take-Two considers GTA to be « the most valuable entertainment intellectual property ever created » in Strauss Zelnick‘s own words. Reckless gamble or rock-solid strategy? The answer arrives on November 19, 2026.
Take-Two has confirmed that physical pre-orders for GTA 6 will open right after the marketing campaign kicks off, meaning June or July 2026. GTA 6‘s price hasn’t been officially announced yet. The most likely range according to analysts sits between $70 and $80 for the standard edition, in line with current AAA pricing on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Strauss Zelnick dodged the pricing question during the Founders podcast episode with David Senra on May 17, 2026, only confirming that GTA 6‘s development budget is the highest in video game history. Several premium editions are expected: an Ultimate Edition that could push past $100, and a Collector’s Edition potentially reaching $150 to $200+, based on Rockstar’s pricing history with GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2.
The physical disc version is confirmed at launch, simultaneously with the digital release. Strauss Zelnick personally went out of his way to clarify this point in the face of digital-exclusive launch rumors. For fans who want to miss nothing, the window to watch is late June 2026. That’s when Rockstar Games‘ marketing machine will officially kick into gear for the 5 months leading up to the launch of the most anticipated game of this generation.
