Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 just got its reveal from Activision and Infinity Ward, but a new leak is already shaking up its fanbase. A detail spotted on the Xbox Store could change the game for pre-orders.
According to insider CharlieIntel on X, a Campaign Early Access Pack shows up in the Xbox Store files tied to Modern Warfare 4, even though it isn’t listed on the game’s official store page. The pack also doesn’t appear in the pre-order bonuses announced by Activision, which for now consist of Open Beta Early Access and the Hunter Killer Operator Skin. The rumor still needs official confirmation, even though the source is one of the most reliable in the Call of Duty ecosystem.
Early access to the campaign would be nothing new for the franchise. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III already rolled out this perk in 2023, letting players who pre-ordered jump into the campaign roughly a week before the official launch. Black Ops 6 and Black Ops 7 then dropped this mechanic. Unveiled on May 28, 2026 during an Activision YouTube live, Modern Warfare 4 launches October 23, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Switch 2 in a particularly stacked fall against GTA 6 and Halo: Campaign Evolved. Official confirmation of this campaign early access could land as soon as the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7.
