The driving physics stay faithful to the 2004 original. The drift feel, the original engine sounds, and the car behavior are preserved entirely. The career mode is fully playable end-to-end in the current build, which represents a major leap forward compared to the early 2025 demos that were limited to free roam and customization. Free roam, the dynamic weather, and the full customization system are all fully functional. The current limitations remain the absence of traffic and AI for race opponents, which still reduces the tension of head-to-head races.

The project remains legally fragile and Electronic Arts could theoretically demand its removal at any moment.
