The Esports World Cup had made Riyadh its headquarters since launch. The Saudi capital remains the competition’s main partner and historic anchor. The numbers behind this Parisian edition are staggering. Over 2,000 professional players from 200 clubs and 100 countries will compete across 24 games spread over 25 tournaments for 7 straight weeks. The total prize pool hits a historic high of over $75 million. The 2025 edition in Riyadh generated over 350 million hours watched and a peak audience of nearly 8 million concurrent viewers, making it the most-watched esports competition in the world.

Confirmed games on the slate include League of Legends, Counter-Strike 2, Valorant, Rocket League, Dota 2, Tekken 8, Fortnite and Trackmania, which makes its competition debut this year. France isn’t coming to this fresh. Clubs like Vitality, Gentle Mates and Karmine Corp shine on the international stage and make the French community one of the most engaged in the world. Paris had already hosted League of Legends finals, the Fortnite Worlds and the Six Invitational in early 2026.

The venue selected for the event is Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. The choice is no accident. The site is already identified as one of Europe’s major event spaces capable of absorbing massive international productions. It hosts Paris Games Week and the Salon de l’Agriculture every year, which gives it proven experience handling heavy visitor flows. Its ability to simultaneously manage broadcast production, audience reception, global streaming and partner spaces makes it the ideal site for an event of this scale.

For Pierre Rabadan, Deputy Mayor of Paris in charge of tourism and nightlife, hosting the event illustrates « Paris’s ability to welcome major international events ». The city had already proven this capacity during the 2024 Olympic Games, with the Grand Palais hosting fencing and judo. The expected economic spillover from EWC 2026 for the French capital is considerable, with tens of thousands of international visitors anticipated across the event’s run.
