Summer Game Fest is right around the corner, and the Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake rumor mill is in full swing. DuskGolem, one of the franchise’s most trusted leakers, just weighed in with a viral X post. The go-to voice for Resident Evil leaks on X thinks a reveal is « incredibly likely » as early as June.
DuskGolem made it clear that the Resident Evil Code Veronica remake is in pole position for a Summer Game Fest reveal. The June 5 timing wouldn’t be a first for Capcom either. The leaker is quick to add that this is pure gut feeling rather than confirmed intel. He has no inside line on Capcom‘s marketing plans for the project, in his own words.
That call isn’t pulled out of thin air. Capcom already used Summer Game Fest 2025 to drop the very first Resident Evil Requiem trailer. The publisher has clearly shifted away from Sony‘s State of Play in favor of Geoff Keighley‘s stage. A Q1 2027 release window would also fit the standard Capcom remake playbook, with reveals usually landing ten months ahead of launch.
The bigger question is which marketing playbook Capcom will dust off for the remake. Resident Evil Requiem got the quiet treatment, with short trailers locked to the game’s opening third. That’s a far cry from how Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 4 Remake were rolled out. Both got the full hype train, packed with showcase appearances and early gameplay drops.
Capcom also has to juggle the recently confirmed Resident Evil Requiem story DLC, giving plenty of reason to spread announcements across several events. Claire Redfield and Rockfort Island have been off the map since the year 2000. Resident Evil Code Veronica still tops most fans’ wishlists as a missing piece of the franchise’s modern lineup. Mark June 5, 2026, on the calendar.
